The Muncie Symphony Orchestra Announces
Chamber Concert Series Opening Event
“Coming Soon to a Solar System Near You!”

Muncie, IN – In collaboration with Ball State University’s Charles W. Brown Planetarium, the Muncie Symphony Orchestra is pleased to present, Coming Soon to a Solar System Near You, to open its Chamber Concert Series.

Experience chamber music like you never have before! Artistic Director/Conductor, Doug Droste, has developed an exciting program for the March 19th event that is sure to please audience members of all ages. Two shows are offered, 6:30pm and 8:30pm. Seating is limited.

“This is another new and unique venture for the MSO. We will perform some lighter works with choreographed images on the planetarium dome by Dr. Kaitchuck. It will be exciting to play in this new venue, but the biggest challenge will be to not get dizzy while reading our music!” said Droste.

Join the MSO’s String Section as they present a new take on familiar pieces. Along with an Irish Tune from County Derry in honor of St. Patrick’s day, Droste will lead the ensemble through a series of Beatles tunes in the style of Vivaldi, which brings a unique rhythm and harmony to some of your most loved Beatles songs; Paperback Writer and Here Comes The Sun, to name just a few.

The program also includes an orchestra-style mashup of Lady Gaga tunes synchronized with a visual feast on the dome of the planetarium.

TICKETS: single tickets are $20 in advance/$25 at the door and students with ID are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Please call the MSO office at (765) 285-5531 or buy online at www.MuncieSymphony.org.

Concert Support is proudly offered by The Muncie Symphony League and Ball State University’s Charles W. Brown Planetarium.

Special thanks to Indiana Public Radio and University Banquet and Catering.
