Musician Spotlight: Cheryl Guise

At the Muncie Symphony Orchestra, we are thankful to have almost 90 musicians playing with us this season! We want to highlight one of our talented members in our first ever Musician Spotlight so you can get to know the MSO musicians!

Cheryl Guise is our featured musician this blog post. She is the principal timpanist and has been playing in the MSO since 1997! Cheryl has been playing percussion for 28 years. She could not think of her favorite memory with the MSO because “there are just too many to say.”

Not only does Cheryl play in the MSO, but she also has a unique and exciting day job. Cheryl works at the Delaware County EMS and has many responsibilities throughout the day. Her favorite part of her job is that she gets to meet new and interesting people all day long. A fun fact about her job is that a couple of weeks ago Cheryl got to help deliver a healthy baby boy.

Cheryl is most looking forward to playing Symphony No. 1 in D Major (Titan) by Gustav Mahler at the Season Finale concert on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 7:30 in Emens Auditorium.

Make sure to come see Cheryl and the MSO perform at our next concert, Classical Kids LIVE! Gershwin’s Magic Key, on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 4 p.m. in Emens Auditorium.
